anyone know much about a '91 camaro????
i am getting a 91 camaro tomarrow. it is in really good condition. it's silver. it has brand new rims, plugs and wires. a new T top. and a brand new muffler. plus a new sterio system, and tires. the only thing "wrong" with it, it has a little crack in teh front bumper (like 3in long) and a crack in the windsheild (like 6in long) and some one shot a bb gun at one of the head lights and put a hole in the glass (1/4in) (lights still work fine). i getting it for $3,000. does anyone have any suggestions about what to check on? things to watch with camaro's? things of that nature. i plan on babying this car and keeping it till i die...lol.....i want this car last. i am a chevy girl, always will be. i just want any tips or advise to, mantain/upgrade my car. thanks so much, andee
Andee, I had an '85 IROC and a '92 RS while I was growing up. I still kick myself to this day for not hanging on to my IROC. Anyways, I had a few minor problems with both my Camaro's. 1) Thermostat goes out quite a bit. Temp gauge will show hot. If it does put a new thermostat in, 9 times out of 10 this will cure it. 2) Radiator problems. I had to replace radiators in both cars. Had a pin hole in both. 3) Alternator, replaced in both. 4) As with any Chevy engine keep an eye on your oil, check it regularly. These engines tend to use a little from time to time. Other than that enjoy it, Camaro's are not the most practical cars but very fun to drive! Good luck
