I dont understand this egr setup?
There is a egr valve that goes to my intake and two big pipes that come off my two exhaust manifold smog lines that go to a separate egr valve on my chevy small block so it will pass emissions if needed.
Right in middle is a black box
Well this is an aftermarket engine and the last guy took it in and it passed emissions so its a custum setup.
The black box just connects the two smog lines.
Off the box are small tubes to egr and off that are solinoid and vaccum lines.
As usual Micheal is all wet. EGR valves don't open at all till the coolant temperature is near maximum AND the RPM's are off (above) idle. EGR valves don't and can't influence spark plug voltage or the number of crankshaft degrees it occurs.
There can only be one EGR valve mounted near the exhaust crossover and floor of the intake manifold. An engine would fall flat on its face if the EGR valve opened when the engine is cold.
Your interpretation concerning a possible second ERR valve leaves a lot to be desired. You didn't say how the second EGR valve was actuated or what normally is inside the two "smog" lines. What does the "black box" do?
