What sealant or tape fills gap between glass and metal oven door?
Hi
The glass front face of my oven door shattered. Behind is a metal door with a glass window to peer into oven. But glass window has 3/8" gap on its sides. I need to seal or fill this gap with high heat resist caulk or tape, which can withstand 600-degrees Fahrenheit, bonding glass to steel (uneven heat expansion). Has anyone tried this with success? Or, any other thoughts on how to effect repair so I can use my oven again? (Can't afford to replace front glass face.) Thanks!
on all ranges I have seen the glass front has nothing to do with the interior two pieces of glass for viewing. The interior glass may just hang over the edges of the frame with no gaps to the interior opening and no seal. If the inside of the door wasn't damaged when the glass broke, it maybe the way it always was and is suppose to be.
