Sport Rear Sunroof

Convice my parents that a Jetta 2010 Wolfsburg has better value than a Jetta 2010 California Edition?
I'm getting my first car for college, and I'm trying to convince my parents that the Wolfsburg is a better option than the California Edition. The Wolfsburg has the turbo engine, a blacked out grill, a touchscreen radio, power sunroof, sport suspension, and 17-in wheels. However, it's about $24,000. The California Edition also has 17-in wheels, as well as a rear lip spoiler. But it doesn't have a touchscreen radio, a 2.0T (2.5L engine instead), no sunroof, no sport suspension...The upside is that this limited CA edition takes off $1,000 from the price, so it ends up costing about $20,500.
Their argument is that the saved cash will pay for gas for a long time, and if I really want the extra stuff I can look into the after-market additions.
I need help! I really want this Wolfsburg...it's CLEARLY the way to go...
FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS DOESN'T SEEM LIKE A LOT OF MONEY WHEN IT'S NOT YOURS.
NO DOUBT YOUR PARENTS ARE HELPING YOU WITH COLLEGE TOO.
THE WOLFSBURG WOULD BE MY CHOICE TOO BUT IT'S NOT THE CLEAR CHOICE. YOU COULD BARGAIN WITH YOUR PARENTS, THEY BUY YOU THE CAR BUT CONTRIBUTE LESS TO YOUR OTHER EXPENSES.
