I have a leak around the rear hatchback when it rains?
How do I change the rear window seal to stop this leak? Where do I purchase the seal and how long does it take to replace? 1990 Honda Crx HF.
I own an auto glass company and I can tell you that the only "proper" way to stop the rear window from leaking is to have the rear glass and window seal removed and a new seal installed. If they tell you they will "just" put some urethane (caulking) around the perimeter of the rear window, dont let them do this. This means this company is a hack. To remove and re-install the rear window and install a new seal should take approximately 45 minutes. After the glass is re-installed it should sit for a minimum of 2 hours before the car is moved. This 2 hours allows the urethane to harden enough that the car can be driven.
