I broke christmas style lights?
I have broken a christmas style light-bulb and the whole strand stopped working. Can I unplug the lights, wear rubber gloves and put a piece of aluminum foil between the two wires that do not connect anymore? Is that dangerous? If it is is there anything else I can do besides those fuse zappers or whatever? I need to fix it before my parents find out.
Don't mess with it. Unplug it and stay away from it. Tell your parents you are sorry, and ask them to repair it for you. Don't try what you are suggesting with aluminum foil.
Your parents may be annoyed with you for breaking the light string, but imagine how much more upset they would be if you burned the house down. Unplug the string and let it alone!
