Round Porthole Window

What is the best way to tile around a porthole window ?
I have tiled many bathrooms, but my new house has a round window in the bathroom - I'd be ok cutting tiles into thin strips to do the window ledge (circular), but how do I edge the bit where the wall meets the ledge ? And, how do I cut the tiles exactly. I'd like to do the job myself, for the satisfaction factor.
For the tiles on the wall face, make sure you have a vertical and horizontal joint lined up to meet in the centre, a bit like rifle crosshairs, so the effect is symetrical.
For the circular reveal, cut tiles into narrow strips to cope with the curve. The width of the strips will depend on the curvature of the porthole (diameter).
The edge where the reveal tiles and wall tiles meet is tricky.
If the tiles are white ceramic when cut, you can do a butt joint, with the join within the reveal, not on the wall. If the tiles when cut are not white, you have 3 options:
Mitred joint - very tricky - you might need to have a grinder to cut the tiles to the 45 deg angle.
Quadrant joint - this is plastic quadrant that fits into the gap, however dealing with the curve will be tricky.
Sealant joint - not tried this, and you might have to do it a few times before it looks right.
Good luck!
