On 1987 Chevy S10 driver & passenger windows, are there special clips/inserts that keep the window glass in the vertical track along the front and rear edge of the door as the regulator is turned to either raise or lower the window? I have reset the windows into the vertical rails and on the regulator arm cam/guide for each door, but the windows will not stay in the vertical tracks as the regulator is operated.
The things holding the window in place, are a few bolts below the window (Keeping it secured), and it simply slides freely in the track.
However, if the glass was replaced, it could be the wrong size. This happens frequently with replacement parts.
If this is not the case, check to be sure all of the rubber track is pressed firmly around the window opening on the door, and be sure the belt moulding (Outter bottom seal on window) is secured correctly. The track/belt moulding are friction fit.
The glass-secure bolts at the bottom of the window inside the door, could also be loose.
