Is it ok to make a Ouija board AND PLANCHETTE out of cardboard?

I cut the actual board out from the bottom of a shoebox and wrote the alphabet, "yes", "no" and "goodbye" on with a Sharpie permanent marker.
I sketched out a "heart shaped" planchette and cut it out from a flap from a cardboard moving box., and just colored the whole planchette black with the black Sharpie.( I DONT have a shot glass to use, and a penny/ quarter is to0 small)
I just wanted to know if it was ok to to use cardboard for both the board and planchette/pointer. Like will it still have the same effect as a store bought one? or shot glass?
I already know the risk, so please dont tell me about that!!!
