What is the best first car out of my choices?
I start driving soon and I am down to these cars.
Car #1. 99 Mustang Cobra SVT-color Electric Green with Charcoal leather. 51k miles(only 185 made) price $7,800
Car#2. 98-02 Firebird V6
Car#3. 02 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI Supercharged.-Color:Charcoal grey with Charcoal leather. 70k miles Price $7,500
Car#4. 99 Audi A6 AWD Quattro.-Color:Black with Beige Leather. 71k miles Price $7,000
So which one do you think is the better choice?
IF it has never been wrecked, and IF the car has been driven normally, the SVT is the clear value winner of the group. It would be over 10K where I'm from (AZ). And, they have tremendous street cred. But, the insurance may scare you half to death.
The Firebird is a crude, antiquated design with poor visibility. Insurance will be easier.
The Bonnie may become your mechanic's new best friend (GM has for decades boosted engines with turbo and super chargers beyond the internal structure of the engines). Besides, the car you describe is an old man's car!
The Audi is the most sensible, they drive sweet (all recent Audi's do), but parts are spendy and knowledgeable techs are rare. Of course, that applies to the Cobra as well. The Cobra is no where near as refined a car as the Audi. And, if you live where it snows, you will stay home with the Cobra (rear wheel drive and too much torque).
If it is a nice car, and you can afford the insurance, get the SVT. Otherwise, I recommend the Audi.
