There is a hum under the hood of my 1990 Mercury sable?
When the car is idling there is a hum ....and the breather has a vibration...and the EGR valve has no vacuum going to it...like there is a leak...and the fan doesn't kick in....i opened the fuse panel and one of the metal ones was so hot it blistered my finger when i touched it....could that fuse be my problem?
well i looked at my owners manual and that metal thing isn't a fuse..it is a circuit breaker...That one is the only one that is hot...so i am thinking that may be one of the problems...i drove my car one night...parked it..then the next morning when i restarted it that is when it all started
Found out the Idle Air Control valve has a crack in it causing a vacuum leak...plus gunk built up...had it cleaned out..hum is gone but until i replace the part...still gonna idle too high...
you have mechanichal and elwectrical problems
