I changed the radiator or all things and ever since, my IACV is cycling almost all the time. I can hear the stepping motor pulsing 5-8 times. It happens when I turn the key to ACC, rev the motor and turn it off. I heard that coolant runs through this but why would this act up all of a sudden. I have burped the system so I do not think there is any trapped air and the heat works fine. The mechanic said it is about $350 and the car idles and runs fine so ignore the noise and leave it alone. Will this work itself out. Will it break and if so, what will happen. Can I remove it and service the part? What are your thoughts. The noise is not very loud but if you are listening for it you can hear it when you are driving the car. The Idle Air Control Valve sits near the rear intake. It apparently controls the throttle by slightly raising or lowering RPM to compensate for things light a cold start and any other stresses on the engine.
$350.00 is freaking outrageous. I could buy a complete factory new Hitachi throttle body with the idle controller, mass air flow sensor and the throttle position sensor for $350.00.
