Glass Bead Puerto

Please help me figure out what kind of stone my necklace is made of?!?
I have a necklace that an ex gave me about 5 years ago. He got it on a cruise to the Bahamas and Caribbean (St. Thomas, St. Croix, San Juan Puerto Rico, and St. Martin). He got it from one of those places and told me what the necklace was made of but now I forget! It has a large pendant made of the stone and the beads that make up the chain are of the same stone. The stones are shiny and reflective kind-of like glass. It is a very dark gray, almost black, and has the metallic shine to it. Below are three links to photos:

Please let me know any ideas you may have! Thanks so much for any and all help!!
