Is this an EGR valve problem?
My 95 Cadillac Seville has been stalling lately. I have to hold down the gas to keep it from doing so. I have also been noticing the MPG have gone down about 4 gallons within 6 months. It also seems to stall alot more during substantial rain fall and car washes. My question is do you think this could be an EGR valve problem and if so should i buy a new one or can i take it out and clean it.
I would agree with ignition problem, if it stalls more when it's wet, it would seem to be more of an ignition problem then an egr valve. Not sure about a 95, but if your car has a distributer, try taking the cap off and check it out, see if it has carbon inside, or if it's cracked, then check plugs and wires, all of which are cheap, easy fixes. Egr valves can go from a couple of bucks, to a couple of hundred.
