how much to fix the hood latch on a 98 ford mustang?
im told the latch is bent. the hood will close & engage but when i pull up on the hood... the hood opens back up. how much would it cost to replace the latch? is it a hard job? where can i find the part? can i do it myself? im a small woman but id like to try to replace it myself.

If it is just the latch you can probably find one at a local salvage(junk) yard. If they do not have one, Ford will probably carry it. It will be 4 bolts for the latch on the hood. It is very simple. Unbolt the old one and place the new one as close to exact as the old one(there should be a visible outline of the latch on the hood from years of grime/etc. getting in there) and bolt it into place. it make take a couple tries so don't tighten it completely each time. Tighten it only enough to keep it from moving while test fitting it.
