How do you fix the EGR on a minivan?
My engine light is on in my 2004 Freestar minivan and when I had it scanned it showed a reading related to the EGR ( exhaust gas relay or something like that) does anyone know what this is and how I fix it so the engine light goes off?
Just cause there's an EGR code doesnt mean its bad , most use a vacuum line and a vacuum switch, plus a vacuum sensor and flow sensor, you've got to be real careful in diagnoses or you'll end up changing parts needlessly until you happen across the solution. Someone with a good scan tool can command the EGR to open and then read data to see how well it functions. Find a good tech and pay him, you'll save in the long run
