Horses next door, I feel Horrible for them.?
My friends neighbors have 2 quarter horses on less than 1 acre of land. The horses have gotten bigger over the past few months but, when I first saw them, they looked horrible... We live in the city, and there is a rule of no live stock in the city limits, We have tried calling the city board but no one EVER did anything... The people are crazy, they ride them to the store and tie them up to dumpsters.. There is no green grass in their back yard, only pee and poop... I asked how much land they were on and the person with me (a surveyor) said .8 of an acre... It is so sad... Who do I contact, that will actually do something for these animals...
try the local SPCA. If that fails there are often horse rescues. Make sure the animals are actually in trouble first... if they get hay 3 or more times a day , food ,water and shelter, plus vet care, the COULD be okay. If they appear to be in any sort of distress, like getting caught on a fence, call someone immedietly.
