I managed to get 6 3packs of the Wall O' Waters from an auction ($5 a pack) So not a bad deal!
Wondering if anyone has used them and what your opinions on them might be? Any tips?
I'm going to use them to plant a few tomato seedlings this weekend just to see what happens with them. I've got 43 strong Roma seedlings going that I started end of Feb indoors. If the wall o waters, work at least I can get one flat of them out of the way!
I've got the maters, peppers, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and Brussels sprout seedling going indoors as well as reg and seedless watermelon, cantaloupe, more broccoli and squash that I just started last week. Running out of room in the kitchen!! At least that sliding glass door makes a great greenhouse!
Wall o waters works excellently for your zone. It basically absorbs heat during the day and releases it at night when the plants need it most when you are planting early. Don't add bleach to the baffles though because you could contaminate your plants. Just use water with a little dish soap added. Wall o waters just allow you to produce tomatoes, etc in a faster way. (early like late May instead of a ripe tomatoe in late june or even July.) People who buy wall o waters are usually trying to get the first ripe tomato of the season so they can brag to their neighbors who they are in competition with.
