Does the silicon that holds a frame-less glass shower screen in place get grotty?
I would prefer to use my local glass guy to install my new shower screen and door, but he wants to put a piece of channel along the floor and up the wall to support the frame-less glass panel as opposed to a thick silicon bead. He says that the silicon gets discoloured and grotty over time.
I've seen a few that just use silicon and they look great.
Can any one give me their experience with frameless glass showers?
a Good quality silicone with a anti-mould should stay fine provided it is able to dry and not collect water ,however the skill is in being able to do a neat job. A frame will look better but he will still need to put a thin bead around it where it meets the wall to make it watertight.
