i want to know because i have an eagle summit, my friend has a dodge colt, and a Plymouth colt. they are all the same year and technically the same car since thats how Mitsubishi made them. i wanna know if any have mivec

The 4G (93-96 Colt/Summit/Mirage) was the first time Mitsubishi gave it a Mivec engine. In the US and Canada, we didn't get it though. All we received was a 4G15 SOHC (1.5L, 92hp) and a 4G93 SOHC (1.8L 113HP). No Mivecs here in the US untill the Lancer Ralliart debuted in 2002
The engine you're probably talking about is a 4G92 DOHC Mivec engine. 1.6 liters and putting out 175HP at 7500rpm, redlining at 9,000rpm. They also made a Modular Displacement version, which shuts off two cylinders when cruising to make it even more efficient. The 4G92 Mivec-MD only came in the JDM Mirage (identical to Colt/Summit sedan) and Lancer sedans (AKA USA Mirage sedan) though (Evo1-3 generation).
If you're looking for a 4G92 Mivec, look at the donor car's frame code, it will be CA4A (JDM Mirage coupe or hatchback) or CB4A (JDM Lancer/Mirage sedan). The valve cover will say Mivec on it. Most likely, it'll come from a Mirage Cyborg hatchback, since the 4G Cyborg sedans are pretty rare.
