I do not live in California. Do I need to put in a California emissions catalytic converter or can I use a Federal Emissions converter in a California Model Honda Accord?
Also, do I need to use OEM parts or are there after market company(s) that make California and Federal emission catalytic converters for Accords? Will after market parts affect the Honda electronic control module?
How many labor hours does it take to install the catalytic converter? Do I need to buy any bolts or filters or sensors when I am installing a converter?
If I do not replace the catalytic converter and keep driving - is my car going to suffer damage?

I found a cat from Walker {#16058} that works for 99 Honda Accord (California Emissions) for $185. It is fine as long as you do not live/register in California. Thanks for all the advice! Have a great week.
You will have to use the CA emissions converter due to physical fitment issues. I have had good success with aftermarket "direct fit" cats only, the universals that get welded in may not work. Try partstrain.com, they have had them for most of the vehicles I have checked on and for far less than the factory cat. Good luck.
