Changing a bathroom light bulb?? (in a sealed hemi-spherical bathroom light fitting: I can't remove the cover)
the light fitting is hemispherical plastic (?) bowl in a plastic ring. it is printed with "ip44" but i can't see how to get the cover off to get at the light bulbs inside. both the rim and the bowl will turn but this doesn't seem to do anything. there are 4 points i can see on the inside of the bowl which look like they might be clips but i can't see how these work either!
IP44 means that it is rated splashproof.
This kind of fitting is usually held by 3 or 4 metal clips and is generally removed by levering carefully with a screwdriver or flat blade on one side. Be sure to keep your hand under the bowl as you do it so that it doesn't go clattering to the floor. You may need a little more force than you think ... just go carefully so as not to damage the fitting.
Putting it back should be a similar process. Make sure that the clips on one side are seating and then push up. It should snap firmly into place.
