car repair, low vacuum, lean bank one & two?
Ok car guys.... 2001 Cadillac Deville. i floored it off of a red light to beat the pants off of a punk in a 4x4 who thought he could race me.
A few seconds after flooring it, the check engine light came on, and now it idles roughly. I rev it up to 800 rpm or more and it runs smoothly but has a slight bit less power.
OBD says lean bank one & two. I changed the mass airflow sensor and checked the EGR, changed the Camshaft sensor, and tried the "propane vacuum leak test". It has 38 psi fuel pressure and it has a steady 10" vacuum (unmetered) at idle. I feel lost but not beaten! so now before i spend any more $$ on it, i hope that you can help me!

this is a list of "common problems" and states, " An engine vacuum leak from the intake manifold area" so it may possibly be an intake gasket leak. To check for this get a can of starting fluid and spray in the gasket areas with the car warm at idle. If the engine RPM increases then that's where leak is! Good Luck!
