personal opinion here from a Dad-- any of the old bugs are cool and would be fun to have but-- they are not very safe to drive. It is my understanding they quit building (selling) these in the USA because they did not meet the new safety standards. I would encourage you to look for anything with airbags, anti lock brakes, etc. As a young driver you need all the help you can get to protect yourself from yourself, and the other idiots out there on the road. Not to mention the constant maintenance these older bugs needs--
